You only wanted to live life to the fullest. What you didn't want was to be in constant danger. Your father decided to allow that to happen, even though you were a prince. Wandering the country looking for bandits and outlaws and anonymous mythical creatures terrorizing your kingdom was his own masterful idea. Of course, you weren't the crown prince, because this kind of thing was too dangerous for crown princes. You got a choice about what you wanted to do. You could either capture known convicts or you capture and/or kill anything magical. You don't believe in dragons and such, but there have been strange disappearances around these lands...
