Journey to America

By Aidan McCready, Khant Zaw Nyein, and Levi Cannon.

Your name is Conner, it is 1867 and you and your 5 year old brother, Russet, are the only survivors of your family, who died from the potato famine. You to decide leave Ireland because of the economic instability, and lack of food. You chose to move to America, but you must decide between taking Russet with you to America, or leaving him in Ireland alone. If you leave Russet in Ireland, you will have one less mouth to feed and will make your money last longer. Luckily, because of the Irish politicians and immigrants in America, who have made major contributions into making America a great country, such us supporting Thomas Jefferson in his election to presidency, and creating festivals such as St. Patrick's Day, it'll be easier for you to obtain a stable job, start a business, or find a good house. You're also coming into America after the Great Potato Famine Years of 1845-1852, therefore there will be less people immigrating into America, making your journey easier. In a couple of years, there will be certain laws such as the Alien Contract Labor, that will limit the flow of immigration into America. In the 1900s, Irish people such as yourselves will be featured in shows such as the Foys, the Powers, and the Rooneys.
