A Dragon's Tale

For as long as he could remember he had been the only being in existence. The one day a girl and a boy no taller than his claws appeared by the entrance to his cave dwelling and from that day on, he was known as a dragon.
The dragon supposed that he must have always been a dragon, but it wasn’t until the miniature girl approached him and told him of his massive wings and his scaly body that he understood what it meant to be a dragon. Her name was Jordan and his job, as she explained to him, was to protect her town.
Why should I protect your town?
