Snow Storm Mayhem 

Hello my name is Rielynn I am going to tell you about the story that changed my   friends life and mine forever. It all started when I asked Jarrett if he was ready to go on our trip up to International Falls Minnesota. We had been at Jarrett’s house in Cresco, IA for only two hours, but we had already packed our bags and loaded up our snowmobiles. There was an announcement on the radio telling us that a big snow storm was coming. We have to drive for 427.6 miles which would take us 7 hours. So we didn’t know how it was going to turn out but we were going to find out. Hopefully our black Chevy Silverado will do the trick.“Jarrett!  I’m not driving in all that snow.  They are forecasting 20 inches overnight,” I protested. “Come on you will be fine”I am ready when you are,” said Jarrett.Finally we headed up to the cities.  We then stopped at the gas station to get gas because we were getting pretty low. “I’m hungry.”Now we decide to stop at the nearest bar to gather up some grub. So we ate while we were deciding what hotel to stay at. “How about the Comfort Suites?” “Ok! Sounds good,” I said.Soon we were on our way again. I was driving, so you know what that means Jarrett just has to take a nap in his very comfy truck. To him it is a complete necessity to take a nap. “Jarrett! Jarrett, wake up look, look.” So he woke up and you know what he said? “Look over there It is a mean black bear!”I told him “NO DUH.”  The bear had a big fur coat with a pack of cubs by its side being a protective mother in the woods. “Ohhh, I want to go back! I don’t want to get eaten by a bear!” “You will be fine.” We go twice as fast as that bear does.” But I was still not convinced. I was so mad he was not giving me any support. “Well I see the hotel lets get checked in and go.” So I parked, Jarrett was being such a backseat driver…  He almost made me crash in to the building that had many pretty purple flowers around It. “Why are you telling me what to do!” I screamed loudly. “I’m not telling what to do I’m just saying that you should park over there. OK?”“Ok, but tomorrow when we leave you are going to drive home.”So we went in the hotel put our things in our room and we were on our way. “Jarrett come help me.” “With what,” he said. “I can't get my snowmobile to start.” “I can’t help you right now I am getting mine started,” Jarrett exclaimed.While he was lollygagging with his snowmobile I tried to work on mine by myself. So I did all I could to start it and it just would not start. Just then I got really mad and i kicked the snowmobile and just like that it started up. “ WOO HOO!” I cheered. And then it started to snow. “We should probably get going soon or else we wont get to go riding.” “Ok!” So we got on and we were off. We were going down the trail and we saw a bunch of different animals. However it was so hard to see because of the snow.“Jarrett I think we should go back!” “Just follow me I know where to go.”I was thinking in my head, “We have never been in this part of the country before how does he know where he is going?” But I was going to just follow him I didn’t want to get lost along the way. “Jarrett I think were lost.” “No I know exactly where we are.”Just then I felt something go underneath my sled. I didn’t think it was that big of a deal so I just kept going. Then I was trying to have a little fun so I zipped right in front of Jarrett and I looked back and saw him. I saw a little smile then I looked back in front of me and, BANG! The next thing I know is that I am in the hospital. I asked the doctor, “Where am I?”He didn’t answer he was too busy poking and prodding me with needles and what not. So I said it even louder this time “HELLO CAN YOU HEAR ME?!” He looked at me and said to me that I was in the hospital. So I asked him why I was here. He didn’t say anything and i was not going to keep asking him if he wasn’t going to answer me back so I saved my words for a later time. I then took a little nap and then when I woke up there was a different nurse in my room so I then asked her “Where is Jarrett?” She told me that he was in very bad condition. MEANWHILE IN JARRETT’S HOSPITAL ROOM…….“Ohh I totally should have listened to Rielynn when she said to stay at home,”saying to myself. I ask the nurse in the room “ Where is Rielynn?” She told me that Rielynn is in room 209. When I was sitting in room 390 which is all the way upstairs. I asked her “Can I go up to see her?” She then told me that I couldn’t. I asked her “Why not?” She told me that I had terrible frostbite and I have to take a blood sample right away to see if my blood is circulating correctly to to amputate my legs. She said we were in the snow for a least 6 hours in -20 degree weather with blizzard conditions to make it feel like -50 out. I was in shock I was then really regretting going out. “I still want to see her NOW!” I exclaimed. So she got me in a wheelchair and I was going to go see Rielynn. We went to her room but she wasn’t in there. The nurse then told me that she was in the middle of her surgery on her back and spine. I started to tear up I was so afraid that something wasn’t going to go right. So I sat in the waiting room for her to get out. There was a strong aroma in the air. It smelt like spaghetti and then I heard my name. I turned around and the doctor was standing there and beckoned me over to him. Then right there at that moment I heard the hardest news you would ever be able to take.
