Pain. I wake up, my heart beating through my chest. It's pitch black, and I don't know where I am. I start questioning things like,"Where am I?", or "Can someone please turn on the lights". Suddenly, bright blinding lights turn on. I'm in an abandoned, old room of some sort. I look down to my feet, just to find my left ankle trapped in a thick, rusty metal chain, and a cassette player. I try pushing the chain while pulling my foot to my chest to hopefully slide the chain off my leg, but the chain doesn't seem to even budge. A random TV in the room suddenly turns on, stealing my attention. The screen is so dirty and scratched up, I can barely see anything it's showing me. The only thing I can see is a man with short blonde hair and blue eyes. He looked familiar for some reason. The man started talking.
.
<b>"Hello Logan. You are probably feeling curious and very inquisitive on where you currently are. You've been jailbreaking many people's computers and electronic devices, and you've even tried hacking the president of the United States. But you didn't get sentenced to jail due to lack of evidence. And on top of that, after all that happened, you even tried hacking me. But there are always consequences to every action, and yours is the fact that you are in my trap, with a thick metal chain strapped to your ankle, leaving you hopeless. But there is one way to flee from this. In the room you are presently in, there are cassette tapes that give away hints to your survival. You will have until 12:00 pm to flee, or else the doors leading to the only exit will lock and you will be left there to rot! Live or Die Logan, make your choice."</b>
.<b></b>
The screen crashes, and then it goes black. I sit back down to retry getting out of the chains. I try again, again, and again, but still nothing. Now feeling completely helpless, I throw myself on the floor crying tears of terror."I know what this is..." I muttered. I then started to flashback...
.
<i>Almost two years ago, I was at home watching a show late at night, when an unexpected phone call caught my attention. When I picked up, the caller told me they were the police, and they wanted to see me immediately to speak about something they didn't mention. When I arrived at the police department, the secretary lead me to a small room with two-way mirrors and a table with two chairs. After over ten minutes of waiting, two police came in the room. One of them started talking."Hello Mr.McGuy. My name is Officer Scott, this is my partner Officer Michael. We called you here to see if you know any information about something recent that happened a few days ago." Officer Michael placed a large plastic bag and a folder with My name on it in front of me."This was found at The Jigsaw Murder Scene a few days ago, and we thought you'd know something about how this got where it was." Said Officer Michael. I opened the bag, worried about what items could possibly be in it for the police to call me. After opening the bag, terrified, I was holding a crumbled piece of paper that said:</i><i><b>Logan McGuy</b>."I have no idea how this got to The Jigsaw Murder Scene! I swear on my life! I'm being one hundred percent honest with you!" I said scared as a lemming. Lukily, they believed me, but I had to stay for a bit more proof I was being honest. Ever since then, I completely forgot about it...</i>
.
After I flashback, I decide to search the room for anything helpful to get the chain off my foot. As I wipe the tears from my eyes and get to my feet, I notice a feeling coming from my back pocket. It was a feeling of something solid. Quickly, I get the item, which is a plastic bag with a cassette tape that has bold, black writing on it saying "<b>#1>>></b>". I open the bag, place the tape in the player, and with my trembling hands, I play it. It starts...
.
<b>"Congratulations Logan! Looks like you've found the first tape. Now, you've obviously found the plastic bag in your back pocket containing this tape. On that tape, it says '#1>>>'. You think it does because it's the first tape? Correct, but it also means something else. In the room, there is a trail that is revealed from knowing what the second reason the tape says that. Here is a hint:<i> The clock ticks, The clock tocks, from one, two, three, to four o'clock..."</i></b>
.
I'm now very confused. "The clock tick, the clock tocks, from one, two, three, to four o'clock"? What would that mean? I look around the room to see if there's anything that can reveal what the hint was saying. I spot a clock, but it's at 2:55. But under it, has paint showing i. Could this mean one? I look around the clock, and I find more paint, this time showing a clock's arms, one of them are normal, but the other is made of three clock arms, with one that has an arrow on it pointing diagonally downwards to the right. Under it shows ii. This is the path! I follow the arrow's indication, which shows me the third clock! This one is just a circle with 'here' written on it. I'm confused now, if the hint says "1, 2, 3, to four o'clock", why is there barely 3? I look at the second clock again suspiciously. AHA! The third indication is the long arm, which has three arms for it! The fourth clock is the empty circle saying 'here'! There is a cracked tile in the middle of fourth circle, which makes me think there's something hidden in it. I throw a rock at the tile, and it cracks open, revealing a chest! Not a small chest, not a big one, just a regular sized chest. I grab it carefully, but when I gave an attempt to open the chest, I notice a keyhole. I don't have a key, and I can make one or pick the lock because I don't have the right things to do so...wait a minute! I remember something that happened before waking up here. I think as hard as possible to remember what it is. Yes! I was at an office, I was putting files together, and I had a few paperclips in my pocket! I rustle through my pocket, and to my luck, there's a paperclip. I try picking the lock, up and down, left to right. After almost two minutes of repeating the same tactic, the metal lock pops open. As I open it, I look at one of the clocks to check how much time I have left. It's 8:57 PM! (I remember what time I woke up at; 6:44 PM). I start to get a scared feeling in my stomach. Fear hits me like a truck, and now I'm frozen in place. I can hear my heartbeats in my ears, my hands are trembling in terror, and I start to get worried. My thoughts take over."What if I don't get out in time?", "What if I never see my family again?", and more questions hit. I finally get over it and open the chest to reveal it's contents. It holds the second tape, another paper with a note on it, and a key! "I really wish the key was in my pocket instead of that paperclip", you mumble. You try the key on your foot's chain, but nothing seems to happen. You place the cassette tape in the payer and roll it...
<b>"Hello and Congrats on finding the second and last tape Logan! Now, you probably think I'm a crazy or psycho man trying to kill you, but I'm actually doing this for your own good Logan. Some people are so ungrateful for the body they possess, like you for example. That is the reason I am doing this to you Logan, so that you will learn. Sacrifices are meant to be made, and it is time for yours to happen."</b>
The tape ends, leaving me with one more object: the note. I unfold it, scared to see what message it will reveal. I read it, and it's just another riddle.<i>"BACK, FRONT, LEFT TO RIGHT. BUT WHAT DIRECTION DOES A PLANE GO IN FLIGHT</i>"? But that's not all<i>. </i>There's a 3D drawing of a cube. A hint! if 'BACK' and 'FRONT' take out 2 sides, and 'LEFT and 'RIGHT' take out another 2 sides, that means "UP" is the answer since down isn't mentioned in anything. So I figured out the riddle, but what now? I think hard with every brain cell in my head. I start to mumble."What could this mean? What else would be cube-shaped? No boxes aren't in view, no...whait! There's actually nothing cubic in the room!" I start to worry more that I'll never meet my family ever again! I start to cry. Why would anyone do this? Why would anyone be this crazy? I start to get the feeling in my stomach again, but then, a thought hits me! I realize that the picture isn't talking about a box or something like that, it's talking about the room altogether! I wipe my eyes, and start 'counting'. I look forward, 'FRONT', then turn backwards, 'BACK', then left, 'LEFT', then right, 'RIGHT', and finally, I look upwards to see a cracked tile! Plan success! I empty the chest of any item inside it, and throw it upwards. It cracks more, but still, not open. I take the chest from the floor, and this time I aim it. I take a deep breath, wind up my arm, and throw it. The chest flies to the cracked tile, speeding through the air, and breaks open the tile with a big BOOM! The tile drops a hard cello case with no lock, almost hitting me! I dive dramatically to the opposite side of the room, and receive more pain from the chain I forgot was tied to my ankle. I crawl to the case and open it with my cold, trembling hands. To my terror, it reveals a big, sharp, rusty, old saw! It has a note attached to it.
<b>"Congratulations! You have found the case Logan. As I said before, I've been following you around, and you seem to have a major phobia on blades. And once, and believe me I heard you say it, you said you'd rather lose a foot than slit your finger with a miniature knife. Now is when the sacrifice I spoke about earlier reveals itself. In order to escape the thick chains trapping you, you will have to cut your own foot off. How much blood will you shed to stay alive Logan? Live or Die, make your choice!"</b>
I gasp in terror, staring in fear at the sharp blade. Voices echo in my head."Live or Die, make your choice! You will have to cut your own foot off! Rather lose a foot than slit hand!" I start to shake all over, now literally unable to move. I start to yell, and now I'm crawling to the blade. I grab it, and put it to my ankle. My trembling hands do a little slit, and blood starts dripping out. Pain starts to hit me. I drop the blade and take my shirt off. I start breathing heavily as if I'm having an asthma attack as I place the shirt on your ankle and tighten it. I place the blade back on my ankle, and start rubbing it. Extreme pain starts to hit, and now I start to get covered in my own blood. I scream hard, now bringing pain to your lungs. The final slit comes, and my foot drops to the ground. My vision starts to get blurry as I crawl to the exit, but I don't give up. The current time is 11:59! I get up to try to start hopping on one foot quickly. There's ten seconds left, and I make it! Now on the floor in relief."I'm alive!" I say."I survived..."
