It’s the late sixteenth century on the island Cyprus. You are the attendant to Desdemona, wife of the Venetian General Othello (he’s also a Moor) and you yourself are the wife of Othello’s most trusted ensign, Iago. Since your departure from Venice, you have been tasked by your husband to attend to Desdemona. You spent a lot of time on the ship ride from Venice to Cyprus getting to know her. She’s a sweet girl, but you heard from your husband that she tricked her father in order to sneak off to marry Othello.
