Kirra is a 16 year old Aboriginal girl living in poverty with alcoholic parents who abuse her. She has no resources to education or jobs. She often feels isolated and does not having many peers or friends to connect with. Kirra ends up meeting a man, he promises to take care of her and treat her right.
Kirra is torn to leave her family and begin a new life with this man or to stay and suffer through more years of abuse and neglect.
