The Beast of Brookevalley - I
C. Grey
Our journey starts in the city of Bettlehollow, one of the most prosperous cities of the Realm of Brookevalley.
Beetlehollow was an important commercial hub for the Kingdom as it had one of the largest harbors of the continent. The mines surrounding the city were also among the most flourishing ones and thus, allowed the kingdom to export valuable resources such as gold, in the entire world. Beetlehollow was surrounded by a big river and the only way of exiting or entering it was to take one of the three gigantic bridges that were crossing the river. These stone bridges were heavily guarded and were ensuring the security of the city.
The King of Brookevalley dwelled in his castle in the Western part of the Kingdom, in the city of Blakewyvern.
The northern part of the Kingdom was a no man's land and was infested by monsters which were brought into this world exactly four thousand years ago by a catastrophe which allowed magic to spread and created these atrocities whose only goal was to kill human beings.
A few centuries after this catastrophe, a small institution called The Companions of Eastrock was created in order to shape warriors fit to slay these monsters. Unfortunately, most of these fighters died during the process of becoming Companions and the others were slain during fights against powerful creatures. The institution was forgotten less than two hundred years after its creation. Thereby, four thousand years later, the northern territories are avoided by all and the few warriors that are brave or crazy enough to venture into these lands generally never come back.
