Test and learn
Tom Grant
Welcome! This short game illustrates some important principles about experimentation in software development. Why is deliberate experimentation a critical part of the software innovation process? And how do you know that you're doing a good job of designing, running, and learning from these experiments?
You are a member of a software development team. Your ultimate goal is the delivery of as much software value as possible. The experiments you run have a direct impact on your ability to deliver that value, which we will be tracking throughout the game.
Your team will have opportunities to do three kinds of experiments.
(1) Technology. How do we assess the likely success of our technical choices?
(2) Business. How well do we understand the customers, and what they really value?
(3) Team. How can we improve our ability to deliver software value over time?
