Darkfox

Redemption Lindoerfer

"Hoist the sails and prepare for impact!" as the waves crash against the big brown ship, the captain prepares his crew for a rough ride. Straight ahead is a big rock formation, towering at least fifty feet above sea level.... there is no telling how far below sea level it reached. All crew members scrambled to prep the ship. The captain went by the name, Forrest. Forrest was no ordinary captain though, he was, in fact, a fox. He was tall, had a broad build, dashing good looks. The color of his coat was of an ordinary red fox. Red coat, black on the ear tips and a white tail, but his tail had the look of fire! He stood on his hind legs and reached 5"8. He was at the young age of 18, but was much smarter and wiser than the average 18 year old human.(But that's not as big of a shock because of the fact that he is not a human at all.) Forrest had everything a captain needed. He knew how to lead. He knew how to plan a plan that would likely lead to victory and survival. This young man deserved the title "Captain", and all his men thought so. And so does she. [Who is she? Wouldn't you like to know? Just keep reading ;)]   "you trained them well!" A young lady exclaimed. (before she is described, lets assume the entire crew is far from...well... normal.) This was Tide. She was a wolf, a blue wolf to be exact. She had a black white ring around her left eye, as well as a scar down her eye. She wasn't a purebred wolf. She had two large White wings protruding from her back. They had black out lining where her bones were and then black at the tip of them. These wigs could carry her for miles and miles. She depended on the a lot, to get her to and from places. She was short, she was five feet on the dot. She was half as tough as the captain unless her loved ones were in danger... then she just plain scary.
The full moon's reflection danced of the surface of the calm sea, while to young friend lay on the grass under a large oak tree, looking up at the clear night sky, pointing out whatever shape they see the stars forming. "That one looks like a mushroom!" one of the friends exclaimed while pointing to what she saw. This was Tide. Forrest laughs and continues looking up at the stars. The stars were as bright as ever. The milky way was clearer than ever and the stars gleamed as bright as the sun in an evening... just not as big and round... and bright. "You know, this is one of my dreams to be under the stars with someone I care about..." Tide said dreamily. "Mmhm..." Forrest said agreeing. Forrest lays in silence, in deep thought. He wasn't looking for a shape at al. Instead, he was thinking how to say it. So hen he couldn't figure out how, he just decided to spit it out. As Tide lay there, not knowing what was about to happen, she too was thinking about how to say it, but she, unlike Forrest, was afraid to say it, so she decided against it. Forrest rolls to his side and faces Tide, then sits up. She saw something was wrong with Forrest, so she also sits up. "Are you okay?" she asks concerned. Forrest looks down at the grass, and clears his throat ready to speak. "Tide..." He begins while still looking down. "I need to say something..." He turns to look at her. Tide, still worried, gives him her full attention, scared for the worst. Forrest stops as he feels his heart about ready to pounce out of his chest. He looks her dead in the eye, "Im just going to do this as quick as possible okay?" She nods encouraging him to go on. "Okay," He takes a deep breath and quickly spits out the three words that changed everything. "I love you!" He exhales and just stares at her not sure if he said it for real or if he just put that scenario in his head and it felt real... It was 100% real. Tide sits there, stunned, not sure if she really heard what she thought she just heard. She just stared at him with thoughts flying left and right in her head, but she still said nothing. "Tide?" Tides face is blank as she still doesn't now what to say, much less, think. finally after Forrest said her name one more time, she snapped out of it. "I... you..." she stutters. "Tide, I know I just sprang this on you, and I am really-" Tide cuts him off, "I love you too." Forrest jerks his head back in shock. "What?!" Tide start laughing at his reaction. She found it really adorable. She stops laughing and nods her head and smiles "I have for a while, I was just too afraid to say anything." Forrest lets out a laugh of relief and leans over to hug her. She tightly hugs him back and they stay like that until she falls asleep in his arms. Forrest softly lays her back down under the tree and then lays down himself, then, he too, fell asleep.
Forrest and Tide were both awoken by a strange feeling. When they opened their eyes, they were tied up, both feet and hands while on  big pirate ship, locked in separate cages below deck. They heard a few men whispering, " They are moving.. what do we   do?"                                                                                        " I don't know. We have to keep them hidden from the captain. There is no telling what he do to them if he discovers them." Another man said.                                   "they're lucky we got to them before he did. Does anyone know how they're doing, have any of you checked yet?" The men all shook their heads. "I can tell you one thing..." A third man began, " The guy looks like a fox and the girl... well.. she looks more of a demon..." Tide got really offended and decided to set them right "I'm a hybrid you moron!" She yelled from inside the cage. The men al stumbled backwards in fright. "They talk?!" One shouted.
