Why I Want to Become a Teacher
Misty Phillips
A year ago I was a nursing student at USI. I hadn’t chose nursing because I had a deep desire to heal people, to work in the medical environment, or because of a childhood dream. I had chosen the nursing major simply because I knew it was a guaranteed job that would give me a nice salary. Had they asked me why I wanted to be a nurse in an interview I most certainly wouldn’t have said that, but it was the truth. A little shallow, I realize. It wasn’t until finding out I was pregnant with a wonderful baby girl that I truly began to evaluate my choices, my life, and myself.
