long ago in the late 1870's there was a town called Hecla. It was part of a mining district called the lion district. The lion district is made up of Glendale and Hecla. altogether the Lion district had about 2,000 people. It was founded by William Spurr and James Bryant. you are on the Montana ghost town tour.
