Origin Trail

It’s the morning of July 4th, and you enter your office at the headquarters of the Vancouver Grizzlies to find Michael Heisley sitting at your desk. It’s 7 a.m., but he’s already drinking straight from the bottle of champagne in his hand.
As he sees you enter, he stands to clap you on the back. “Hey! Happy Independence Day, Halberstram!” You start to tell him that’s not your name, but before you can, he glances down at your outfit, which is red, white, and blue. “I see you’re feeling patriotic today. Which is good, because I’ve got great news.”
“What’s that sir?” you ask.
“Last night, the Board of Governors voted unanimously to approve our move. The team’s moving to Memphis!”
You smile. “That’s great news, sir! I was tired of getting paid in Canadian dollars. You know they’re not worth as much as regular dollars. So, when are we moving?”
“You mean when are you moving,” Heisley says. “Everyone else is already on their way down to Memphis to get everything set up.”
“I thought the offices looked a little empty this morning,” you say. “So, I’m the only one left?”
Heisley takes a swig from his champagne bottle. “Well, not exactly. We haven’t moved the players down yet, either. Actually, that’s what I wanted to talk to you about. I need you to get all the players down to Memphis.”
"Um, I think I'll pass."
